We have recently started an 8 months’ project involving peer mentoring for young asylum seekers. This project targets young people with little knowledge of the system or the city who will be paired with older youths who have already been through the process. Sharing their experiences, offering support and their knowledge.
It is aimed at creating an informal peer support system where young people can turn to others who they look at as role models rather than authoritative figures. Whilst allowing the young mentors to take on responsibility and develop life skills.
